On the doorstep of The Ungasan, sprawling landscapes offer one-of-a-kind Bali adventure activities for all kinds of adrenaline-fuelled preferences. From white water rafting down the Ayung River to feeling like you’ve scored a cameo in Indiana Jones, as you quad bike through the jungle, Bali’s inviting terrains are the perfect playground to explore.

ATV Bali Quad Biking

On an adventurous quad bike ATV trek, navigate challenging terrain, including muddy waterway trails and rugged paths. Bali’s natural landscapes come alive with the adrenaline-inducing encounter of a quad biking journey. Led by an experienced guide, most tours kick off with a safety briefing and driving training, so you can concentrate on having as much fun as possible along the uphill and downhill trails. Whether experienced or inexperienced, the tour guide will ensure your safety, as well as an unforgettable journey.

The Ungasan team can organise a range of excursions, including an ATV tour in Uluwatu. Located near Uluwatu Temple, Suluban Beach, Padang Padang Beach and Balangan, why not include it in a tour of Uluwatu’s iconic features and uncover the very essence of what this area has to offer.

White water rafting in Bali

Thrilling rapids and epic scenes await on the Ayung River, home to some of the most exhilarating white water rafting experiences. Among spectacular waterfalls, rice paddy fields and rugged jungle surroundings, the course runs for 12km, alongside a guide who will safely traverse you through the undulating waters of the river with plenty of rapid excitement along the way.

Canyoning in Bali

Abseil down flowing waterfalls, jump and slide down natural rock chutes and swim with a canyoning experience in Bali. Beautiful moss and greenery covered drops form the scenery for many of the descents you’ll encounter. Challenge yourself with various experiences, from sliding down natural stone chutes, to letting go and rappelling on a safety line. The wet and wild nature of canyoning is an experience suited to everyone, with guides happy to tailor the experience and recommend which level of descent is more suitable.

Most canyoning tours are located in northern Bali, approximately a three hour drive from The Ungasan. When you stay as guests, you’ll unlock access to the hotel’s expert experience team who elevate every experience you’ll have in Uluwatu, with tailored itineraries and tried and tested partners.

Uluwatu Helicopter Tour

When it comes to adrenaline activities in Bali, you’ll certainly peak your heart rate amid breathtaking heights with a helicopter tour over the Bukit Peninsula. This mesmerising coastline stretches out before you, revealing Nusa Dua, Jimbaran Beach and the majestic Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue, alongside Uluwatu’s magnificently rugged cliff tops and idyllic beaches.

When you stay as a guest at The Ungasan, all excursions can be arranged on your behalf at cost price.

Cliff jumping in Bali

There’s nothing quite like the exhilaration of being poised upon the edge of the cliff, readying yourself to plunge into the deep blue — the best cliff jumping spots span this archipelago. The Blue Lagoon jump on Nusa Ceningan coins its name due to the bright blue waters that shimmer in the bay below as you jump from the cliff’s edge. It’s worth noting that there is no longer a ladder to help you when getting out of the water, so ensure you are confident on exactly how you’ll exit before committing to the jump.

Close to UIuwatu, you’ll find Tegal Wangi Beach, a hidden gem in the treasure chest of cliff jumping spots in Bali. As well as being a popular sunset location, this beach has a secluded, secret feel, boasting a number of caves, natural rock formations and rock pools to explore.

Jeep adventure in Bali

One of the best adventure activities in Bali is through the rugged terrain of Bali’s landscapes, via a 4WD jeep adventure. A popular excursion is the Mount Batur sunrise jeep tour in Ubud as an alternative to hiking the mountain, yet providing just as much of an exhilarating journey. Many tours are happy to pick you up from your accommodation, provide a delicious breakfast and coffee, then get you on your way to traversing muddy tracks, past rice fields and lush greenery.

Diving in Bali

Bali presents an underwater wonderland for discovering marine life, on both its north coast, famed for wall and reef dives, as well as the eastern coast, home to the mesmerising Liberty Wreck. With the dry season running from April to October, the best season for diving in Bali is from May to November, including Manta Rays in April and May, as well as the famous Mola Mola, Oceanic sunfish from August to October.
